Frequently asked questions
My son wants to be in the same group as his friend, is this possible?
Yes, they can be together as long as the friend is the same age group as your son. Age Groups are 5 to 7, 8 to 10 and 11 to 15. Please indicate in the appropriate space on the booking form who your son would like to be with.
My child has an allergy, will this affect her time at camp?
No, it should not affect your child's time at camp. Please use the appropriate space on the booking form to inform us of your child's needs. This will enable us to provide the best care necessary. If you are still concerned about your daughter's time at camp please do not hesitate to contact the Day Camps office on 020 8509 4636 and discuss the matter with one of our staff.
What if my child is on medication/ has an inhaler/ has an epi pen?
We will need your written permission from you in order to be able to administer medication. You will be sent a permission form once your child is booked onto camp. Please complete the relevant section (Medication Permission) and return the form to us. We will also need your written permission if you want us to help your child with their inhaler/ epi pen.
My child has special needs and requires one-to-one attention. Can s/he come to camp?
Please contact the Day Camps office to discuss your child's needs. We try to make Day Camps available to all children but might not always be able to provide the support your child needs.
If it's raining, should I send my child to camp? Do you have alternative activities planned?
Whatever the weather, every day is still an adventure at Day Camps. We have plenty of wet weather activities to keep the children entertained. Please provide your child with rain protection and appropriate foot wear on a rainy day.
My child is scared of heights, will s/he have to climb/do high ropes?
We do not make any of the children take part in an activity that they do not want to do/ are scared of.
Is lunch provided? What is available to buy at tuck shop?
Lunch is not provided. Please pack your child a healthy lunch and a drink. We only sell healthy options at tuck shop, e.g. fresh fruit, dried fruit, yoghurts, fruit loaf, vegetable sticks, etc.
I like my child to eat healthily, do you support this at camp?
We encourage all parents/carers to provide healthy lunch and only offer healthy options at our tuck shop.
My child can't swim, can s/he still go kayaking//rafting?
Yes they can still take part but you will need to fill in the swimming ability section on the booking form so we are aware of this.
If it is hot, will staff help my child apply suncream?
We are happy to help your child apply suncream but will need written permission to do so. Permission forms will be sent to you once your child is booked onto camp.
What if my child falls sick during camp and cannot attend? Will I get a refund?
You must claim in writing supported by a doctor's certificate. We will not be able to offer a refund without a doctor's certificate.
